Meet the Instructor…

Eileen Plichta

After School Instructor, Artist and Founder of CraftKitchen

I am a California based artist that has taught after school classes in local elementary schools for over 10 years. I love sharing my passion for the arts, and I am dedicated to helping bring art into the homes of students during this unique time. One of my favorite things to do is help children discover what inspires them and encourage them through their own creative exploration.

In addition to the class content, I care deeply about the social and emotional well-being of students. I use our time together to ensure children stay connected to peers by making the class highly interactive. I also enjoy finding fun art projects for students to do outside of class and often share these free resources with families.

I received my Bachelors Of Fine Arts in Illustration from a fine arts college. Prior to teaching, I was a textile designer for childrenswear for over 15 years. In my spare time, I combine my talent for portraiture and my love of sewing by creating custom painted portrait dolls.
